OUGD501 Joseph Finegan (Studio Brief One)

This article about a photographer called Joseph Finegan is really interesting. It proves the point that having fetishes is considered taboo, otherwise the photographer wouldn't be very successful. It also proves the point that the internet has opened up the doors for these kinds of things to be possible, as Joseph only photographs people that he has found on the website Craigslist.

OUGD501 AARGH, Artists Against Rampant Government Homophobia (Studio Brief One)

Artists Against Rampant Government Homophobia (AARGH) is a comic designed to fight against Clause 28, which was a controversial amendment to the Local Government Act in 1988. At the time, Alan Moore, who was in a relationship with his wife and their girlfriend, felt that the law was hererosexist and that it would affect them personally. To help fight the Clause, Moore formed Mad Love, his own publishing company. The title was a mixed collection of 40 stories, mostly comics with some text. Other creators included Robert Crumb, Howard Cruse, Hunt Emerson and more. Clause 28 was eventually repealed in 2003.
